My sweet Rasmus has returned from New York :D I couln’t be happier :D And even though I had told him, that the only sourvenir I wanted from New York was him, he still went out of his way to find me something.

Scarf style from Interweave Press and Dali yarn from Knit-A-way :D

He knows I love to knit, that I mostly knit accesories and that I love red.  I don’t think I had chosen these things myself, but I enjoy a challenge. There is a pattern in the book that I think will go great with the yarn. And hopefully there will also be enough yarn for a couple of fingerless glowes to match the scarf :D

This one is a keeper I tell you!

So this past week has been very interesting. I have started knitting again and the knitting group at my dorm has revived it self. Also I started reading all of my favorite knitblogs thanks to Google-Reader :) All stuff I have really missed doing!

My New Hair

Another (exiting) event from this week, is my new HOT hair ;) It is perhaps slightly to dark, but I like it. And so does Rasmus. Talking of which, I met his family for the first time yeaterday. Some of them anyway – I met his Dad, his Dads girlfriend and his dad’s parents. It went really well and we all had a nice time.

Before Going to Frederikssund (totaly out into the country) to visit Rasmus Dad, I stumbled upon this lovely and very cheap Merino Yarn and I just couldn’t help myself. I bought it from a shop I normally don’t like (they smoke and provide really bad service), but it turns out that it is a small treasury of Noro-yarn!! So I might have to return there and treat myself to some Noro-silk and make myself Brooklyntweed inspired Noro-scarf.

All there is left to do is wish everione a good weekend :)

Settle in this will be a long and very picture heavy one!

This Saturday, I ventured to Jutland with 3 lovely ladies, Tine, Rikke and Marie. We were going to a huge stock sale at BC-Garn and then to a café in Kolding for some the and cake :) Though I was tired from getting up early in the morning I still managed to get quite a bit of knitting done on the way!

Here we have Marie and Tina ecstatic from being in the proximity of so much Lucca Yarn (on the shelves behind them)

There were around 8-10 isles like this all stuffed full of wonderful and sometimes cheap yarn! It was a Yarn wonderland I tell you!

This is Rikke and Marie going nuts over heaps of inexpensive yarn!

We were all quite beat when we got to Kolding but at the same time high from all our shopping!

me being silly behind my load of yarn!

Nikoline knitting a very intriguing sweater :)

Marie wondering what to do with her only impulse buy – loads of purple and pink angora yarn.

This is my stack from the day. It holds two hanks of purple silk yarn, two hanks of petrol angora yarn, 1 hank kid mohair, 6 skeins of lovely arwetta sock yarn in different colors for stripy socks, 2 hanks of a white silk yarn and a pink angora skein :D Oh and a pair of addi circular needles.

Birgitte and her mother enjoying the good cake :)

And last but not least EG trying to eat the scary green and pink cake :)

Now that was a day well spent!

Ok settle in, this will be along one! But stuffed with photos so it shouldn’t be too bad!

This is the what me and Rikke got from Dorthe. 2 skeins of a 100grams each superwash wool of some sort, rubber glowes (that we forgot to use, wups) and 3 packs of coulor tablets for eeg-couloring.

Rikke decided that she would use her skein as it was. She wanted to make it blue and green and as it was alreade 160cm in the round this should make it 80cm of each coulor – two rounds of sokcknitting in the same colour. I made mine into three colours, pink, orange and yellow and i wanted three knitted rounds of each colour så i made my skein into 360 cm in the round.

We mixed three colour tablets with 4 tablespoons of vinegar and 1/2 liter of boiling hot water.

We placed a huge pot on the stowe with hot water in it, and big glases with our dye in and then placed the yarn inside of the glases.

In an atempt to get the colour all over the yarn Rikke used a fork to get it into the dye.

To get the exces dye out we washed the yarn (millions of times).

Then we dried it in a towell to get the exces water out, then hung it up to dry over two chairs.

Here is Rikke’s skien.

And here it is all rolled up into a perfect ball (that Rikke, she knows a lot tricks)

Then we did it all over again with my skein.

From the first time around we learned that is was probably bedst to fill the glases all up with dye. Another thing we learned from the second time around was that you should stir the dye up just before you put in the yarn to get an even result.

and washing the yarn.

Here is the result of me and Rikke’s first ever atempt to coulor yarn! I will tell you all about how we did it, cos’ it was a blast and every knitter should try it!

My skein is hopefully self-stribing in the coulors pink orange and yellow! I this it turned out great, and I am very curious to see what it looks like knitted! :D
