Scottie Cardi for Laura

Pattern: “Scottie Cardie” By Erika Knight from Simple Knits for Little Cherubs
Yarn: BC Garn Lucca Fino (Nr. ub43-100gr.)
Needles: US 4 / 3.5 mm
Size: 2,5 years old – I hope she can still fit into it
Notes: The knitting part was very straight forward, even though it would have been nice with a more accurate pattern, like telling me how many rows to knit instead of how many cm. The sewing part was the hardest part for me, it would have been great if the full fashioning had been written into the pattern.
Ooh yeah, and choosing yarn that needs to be hand washed, for a garment for a 2 year-old – not my wisest decision

This is a picture of my beautiful cousin and her daughter Laura. The Cardigan ended up a bit to short for my liking, but the sleeves were nice and long. I doubt that Laura will be wearing it a lot. But perhaps her kid brother/sister will (My cousin is expecting a baby in 5 moth or so). And if not, that is okay to. I learned a lot from the process and is very happy that I finished it.

Here is a close-up of the cardie so you can really see the lovely yarn – super soft and a nice thick brown color!

Halfway through the process. I very much enjoyed knitting from a cone, but I have no idea how much yarn I used.

Cute buttons. Uni-sex, if Laura should get a kid brother then he would be able to also use the cardie. The band was for sewing inside the Cardie to strengthen it were it is sewn together. In the end I only used it on the shoulder and neck seams.

Last but not least, a closeup of my weapon of choise for this project.
These have been done for quite some time. But due to a lot problems with my computer, I haven’t been able to post them

Pattern: Vespergyle mittens by Elinor Brown
Opinion: Great pattern, very easy to memorise and very nice result! I might do it again sometime
Modifications : I went up a couple of needle sizes and chose thicker yarn than the pattern asked. I also added length about 5 rounds more.

They now belong to my Rasmus. And even though they very extremely fun and easy to knit! The best thing about them, is hearing him brag to everybody he knows, about them!
He still wears them.. and it’s 20 degrees celcius outside!

Here are a couple of pictures from the process. Please note that the colours are more accurate on the top ones.

Honey Comb Socks – my way!
Pattern: HoneyComb Socks by Nina Duke-Howard
Yarn: grey sock yarn, 70% wool, 30% ?
Needles: 4,5 mm
Modifications: Everything. I did them top down with a diamond heel.
These guys have actually been on their way for more than a year, embarrassingly! I promised Esben a pair of socks the fall of 2007, and this is the final result. The good news is that he really likes them.
Not very photogenic socks unfortunately.
Esben was kind enough to model them for me, whering his cowboy hat
These were actually finished in due time. Yet here they are a little over a month late
They are just odinairy socks made from Opal Sock Yarn with a Parrot collor theme
And the have been keeping me feet warn all through this last feezing month.
Oh yeah, bye the way, sorry for disapearing for a month.. I have finaly got a little more control over my life and finances again. I am taking a class at the IT-university, working in a daycare center and a theater.
I must admit that my craftiness and urge to be creative doesn’t limit itself to just knitting
When I was a kid and teenager I spend many hours cutting cardboard, like the to works below. On and off I take it up again.
For my grandmother and grandfather I have cut out a Christmas crib.
And for Rasmus mother I have cut out this one, H. C. Andersen’s fairytale The Snow Queen
I hope she likes it. I am so happy to have a mother in law who is nice to me, that I just want to show her how found I am of her all the time!

In the first couple of days of Socktober I made these slippers
The slippers were a super fast, super satisfactory knit.

The Yarn was a gift from PowerKitty a couple of years ago, it’s some sort of thick sockyarn.
This is a very satisfying knit
I was so exited when I finished it, that called Rasmus to tell him and then I went around knocking on my friends doors here at the dorm, to show it off!
Pattern: Odessa by Grumperina
Yarn: Evil Angorette, from Anna Belle, 100% Angora,
Skeins: 1×137yds/125m per 25g
Needles: 3mm and 3,5 (I think)
Mods: None, except a handfull of mistakes due to tiny break (one year) of knitting it.
Review: The pearls and the yarn choice made it patience demanding projekt. But I love the end result! And I think I might knit it again sometime, in different yarn. The pattern is very easy to remember.
Originally it was knit just for me, but in end my mom got it for her birthday this sunday
And she liked it!
This is a close-up picture where you can see the pearls and the effect the pattern makes, where it all most looks like the knitting is going in different directions. Very cool! My friend Christian said that it looked like something you could buy at Frederikberg (the posh end of Copenhagen)
The Very beautiful model is Sara Brøns, my very good friend. She has agreed to be my muse on the blog from now on
And then they were done
(wachout – picture heavy post)

The socks were knit from my sefcollored Sorbet-yarn.
I really enjoy Grumperinas Jaywalker-Pattern, it is so easy to knit and turns out very pretty. It is enough to wow most non-knitters
Another great thing about this projekt is, that it is the first projekt in a long time that I have knit completely for me! And it feels great!
I wonder how well the color will hold out during wash. I don’t think I will try mashine washing them ![]()

Here I am, the happy knitter! It is so nice finaly knitting again! What is even cooler is, that since I am working on my UFO’s/WIP’s I am finishing things super fast

This was actually due in may, but because I was ill it got postboned a bit
Pattern: Hæklet DROPS taske
Yarn: cotton (such an evil yarn!)
Timespend: may-august 2007 (too long)
Hot or not: The jury is still out on this one.. Hopefully the recipient will like it, but its is a bit too slouchy for my taste.

Close op of shell pattern (damn I am tred of crocheting!)

One last pic just for the fun of it!
