I just finished Harry Potter!

I started reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this spring. I really loved the series when I was growing up, but I somehow got stuck on this last and final book. Perhaps I childishly thought that I could prevent the story from ending (especially with the ending I though inevitable) if I just didn’t finish it so soon. And also I was a little tired of the books being so similar – and slightly too actioned-packed (I could have spend lots of time just exploring the universe and the magic).
So how did I finally get through it? A good friend of mine gave me the audio-book version. It turns out that knitting (or any other sort of craftiness) and audio books are a perfect combination! It is almost like returning to childhood, when my mum used to read to me (actually she still read to me when I was passed 14, but never mind that).
In the end I really liked the series and the story turned out completely satisfying (and I am such a critical person).
But now I need a new “fix” for my story-listening-cravings to go together with my Christmas Knitmares (I am actually very productive these days)!
My drug of choice is another great fantasy novel that I somehow got stuck reading (admittedly, I am not much of a reader). George R. R. Martin’s “A game of thrones” is the first of 7 planned novels in the series “A song of ice and fire”.
So my fellow crafters and bloggers, what are you reading or listening to? Anything you can recommend?
Right now I can’t wait for the holidays so I can spend lots of time listening og knitting! Those will be the days!
Another thing I am really looking forward to: Christmas eve! I can’t wait to see my family open their presents!
I am really excited about each and everyone! When the time is rigth I will show you what I am talking about!
Okay – I’ll just give you a small preview of my makings this year! It’s a garment, it’s super soft, it’s a nice brown color and I’m enjoying every stitch of it!

This is Halloween!
Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn’t you like to see something strange?
Come with us and you will see
This, our town of Halloween
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night
This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
It’s our town, everybody scream
In this town of Halloween
I am the one hiding under your bed
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red
I am the one hiding under your stairs
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song
In this town, don’t we love it now?
Everybody’s waiting for the next surprise
Round that corner, man hiding in the trash can
Something’s waiting now to pounce, and how you’ll scream
Scream! This is Halloween
Red ‘n’ black, slimy green
Aren’t you scared?
Well, that’s just fine
Say it once, say it twice
Take the chance and roll the dice
Ride with the moon in the dead of night
Everybody scream, everybody scream
In our town of Halloween
I am the clown with the tear-away face
Here in a flash and gone without a trace
I am the “who” when you call, “Who’s there?”
I am the wind blowing through your hair
I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
Halloween! Halloween!
Tender lumplings everywhere
Life’s no fun without a good scare
That’s our job, but we’re not mean
In our town of Halloween
In this town
Don’t we love it now?
Everyone’s waiting for the next surprise
Skeleton Jack might catch you in the back
And scream like a banshee
Make you jump out of your skin
This is Halloween, everyone scream
Won’t ya please make way for a very special guy
Our man Jack is king of the pumpkin patch
Everyone hail to the Pumpkin King no
This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song
La la-la la, Halloween! Halloween!
