The death of Whitney Houston has brought new life to her music

When I first found out that Whitney Houston had died, I suddenly remembered how much I used to love her music. Growing up in the nineties with a strong wilded mother, who, like 70 billion others, bought the soundtrack from The Body Guard. It felt almost like looking into a mirror when I read Whitney Houston, My Mother, and Me. Though I must admit, that I don’t remember who played it more, me or my mother.

The silver lining of Whitney Houstons untimely death is that is has reminded us all about her music. The music of some of her tracks bare clear marks of the time they were produced in, and have not all aged well. But her voice and the lyrics are timeless. Luckily a lot of brilliant artist have taken it upon them to bring some of her best tracks up to date. My favorites among all the mashups and remixes are:

Robyn vs Whitney Houston – Dancing in Houston (Zooash ”Glam-Pop” Mashup)

The Hood Internet – When The Night Knows (Whitney Houston x Chromeo)

Deep & disco – How Will I Know (Deep&Disco Lost 80s Mix)
