“This is our knitting club… for a while now, there has been a disagrement about some of the patterns, but I am sure that will all be resolved before you move in Miss Petersen…”

A fun cartoon, by the danish cartoonists Wulfmorgenthaler :) Enjoy!

Scottie Cardi for Laura

Pattern: “Scottie Cardie” By Erika Knight from Simple Knits for Little Cherubs

Yarn: BC Garn Lucca Fino (Nr. ub43-100gr.)

Needles: US 4 / 3.5 mm

Size: 2,5 years old – I hope she can still fit into it :)

Notes: The knitting part was very straight forward, even though it would have been nice with a more accurate pattern, like telling me how many rows to knit instead of how many cm. The sewing part was the hardest part for me, it would have been great if the full fashioning had been written into the pattern.

Ooh yeah, and choosing yarn that needs to be hand washed, for a garment for a 2 year-old – not my wisest decision

This is a picture of my beautiful cousin and her daughter Laura. The Cardigan ended up a bit to short for my liking, but the sleeves were nice and long. I doubt that Laura will be wearing it a lot. But perhaps her kid brother/sister will (My cousin is expecting a baby in 5 moth or so). And if not, that is okay to. I learned a lot from the process and is very happy that I finished it.

Here is a close-up of the cardie so you can really see the lovely yarn – super soft and a nice thick brown color!

Halfway through the process. I very much enjoyed knitting from a cone, but I have no idea how much yarn I used.

Cute buttons. Uni-sex, if Laura should get a kid brother then he would be able to also use the cardie. The band was for sewing inside the Cardie to strengthen it were it is sewn together. In the end I only used it on the shoulder and neck seams.

Last but not least, a closeup of my weapon of choise for this project.
