Presidential Inauguration – Barack Obama

My day has been planned around this wonderful and historic event – Barack Obama’s inauguration on January 20, 2009! When I saw this picture (cover of ms. magazine) I just had to post it! In Denmark feminism is almost a curse word, for some. While in Sweden most politicians (male as well as female) call them selves feminists! I know that this picture is photoshoped, but Obama is a self-proclaimed feminist. My point is, that if one of the world’s most important men is openly a feminist – that help change the minds of people the world over. In Denmark hopefully!

Inaugurations days do not have to be less crafty days than usual – check out Crafsters collections of political themed stuf. And when you are there, please note Crafsters new and less cluttered design. I chose to knit on my Honeycomb Socks that have been long over due. I must admit that I couldn’t help tearing up.

I am dealing with a lot these days, and my blogging energy isn’t what I want it to be. I am trying to get into a different university to take my masters, and it is completely uphill! So right now I desperately need a job and I am not taking any classes (because I get my bachelor degree in Art history this January) . All this uncertainty is stressing the hell out of me :P

Happy inauguration day to all.

Lastly two skeins of Lucca Fino from garn.dk wound up by hand. This will someday be a hat for my friend Daniel – I hope!
Was it as good for you as it was for me? ;)

My sweet Rasmus has returned from New York :D I couln’t be happier :D And even though I had told him, that the only sourvenir I wanted from New York was him, he still went out of his way to find me something.

Scarf style from Interweave Press and Dali yarn from Knit-A-way :D

He knows I love to knit, that I mostly knit accesories and that I love red.  I don’t think I had chosen these things myself, but I enjoy a challenge. There is a pattern in the book that I think will go great with the yarn. And hopefully there will also be enough yarn for a couple of fingerless glowes to match the scarf :D

This one is a keeper I tell you!

With my camera being in New York, with that sweet man of mine, my pictures from New Years have are little late :) By now people have posted pictures and I can show them to you all. There is especially one thing I am very proud of and have to show you.

Photobucket
The cake I made! It is an ordinary danish “Kransekage” made from marzipan and sugar with a pretty frosting! The pictures are a bit blurry :(
Photobucket
This is me, the cake and lots of champagne! There were over 130 people invited to my dorm for New Years :)
Photobucket
Even though my boyfriend was away for new years (and still am :( ) I still managed to “score” a little – Me and Darth Wader made such a pretty couple.

And last but not least. Rasmus had (despite the fact that he wasn’t in Denmark) invited 7 English guys to come celebrate :) I had the pleasure of entertaining the lot :)

I hope you all had as wonderful a new years eve as I did!
